I grew up in Texas speaking Spanish before English, the child of parents from Coahuila, Mexico. Every summer and winter we drove south, and Coahuila became the place I measured home against.

My practice centers on drawing, with some painting and steel sculpture, working in graphite and colored pencil on fabric alongside harder industrial materials, a way of holding soft and hard marks, large and small scales, in the same body of work. Figures, horses, landscape, and skyscapes recur, along with an interest in the celestial and non-corporeal light as a material condition as much as a visual one.
